Chanel Lipsticks – Worth the Hype?

IMG_0385

Now, a Chanel Lipstick is without a doubt utterly beautiful to look at. And amongst bloggers and YouTubers they are quite popular – But the question is: Are they really worth the hype?

As I already own 6 Chanel Lipsticks of four different formulas and textures, I thought it was about time to give you my opinion on them. I have three of the Rouge Coco Shines, one original Rouge Coco (which are less shiny and more pigmented than the Rouge Coco Shines), one Rouge Allure (also nicely pigmented and a lot more staying power than all the others) and an Allure Gloss. For swatches see below.

From left to right: Boy 54, Téméraire 112, Bonheur 61, Émoi 58, Pirate 99, Lune Rousse 36.

The Rouge Coco Shines I have are Boy 54, Bonheur 61, Téméraire 112 (limited edition). They are very hydrating and quite shiny on the lips, so they tend to wear off very easily – as soon as you sipp on a water bottle, they are mostly gone. Some might consider this as a bad thing, but I have to say, I don’t mind reapplying them throughout the day and I much prefer a hydrating lipstick (kinda like a lipbalm) than a lipstick that has huge staying-power but makes my lips look chalky. One thing I have to say, the color Téméraire 112 is an exception right here! It is soo pigmented with just one sweep and also stays put for at least 5 hours, while also leaving a nice stain on your lips AND being super hydrating. It is, unfortunately limited edition, so hurry up if you still want to get your hands on this one.

The Rouge Coco one I have is in the color Lune Rousse 36. This is a deep red with blue/lilac undertones. Formulated to stay on the lips for quite some time, I find it a bit drying on my lips, while it does stay for 5-6 hours and also leaves a stain on the lips. Out of all of the formulas from chanel that I know, this one is my least favorite.

The Rouge Allure I have is in the color Pirate 99. It is by far my absolute favorite red color and also my favorite out of all of my Chanel Lipsticks! The formula is very longwearing, staining, but still not too drying on the lips. Colour-Payoff is very opace and even leans bit on the matte-side. Pirate is also a shade of red that I think every skintone will suit, because it has cool, blue undertones – this will also make your teeth look whiter!

Last but definitely not least I have one of the Rouge Allure Glosses in the color Émoi 58. To me this is the Rouge Allure lipstick 99 Pirate in a lipgloss formula. Because once again the color is very cooltoned with blue undertones in it. The formulation itself is very hydrating, smooth and also suprisingly longwearing! The gloss is leaving a nice stain on the lips after wearing off withing about 2-3 hours (normal for a gloss).

My Résumee: Chanel lipsticks are always a treat and if you really think about which formula you prefer, Chanel has definitely one for you. So, I would say, if you prefer a hydrating everyday-lipstick and you are willing to reapply it a couple of times, then go for the more sheer and subtle Rouge Coco Shines. If you rather prefer an opaque color payoff with long staying power – go for the Rouge Allure. The only one I really wouldn’t recommend are the Rouge Cocos (without Shine ;)), because they are so drying on the lips and for me, they don’t have the benefits of the Rouge Allure ones.

I hope this review was helpful to some of you! One tip for all of you who are thinking about giving a Chanel lipstick as a gift to someone: a classic red lipstick from Chanel is never a bad idea and the color 99 Pirate will look good on anyone!

❤ Avec Marie

Vegan Banana Pancakes

I absolutely love pancakes and these are super healthy and very easy to make! They are completely dairyfree and sugarfree (except the fruit sugar in the bananas).

2 ripe bananas, 150 gr of flour (buckwheat is great), 1 tsp backing powder & 170 ml almond milk

Mash the bananas and mix with the other ingredients. Grease your pan with coconut oil and place the dough into your greased pan. Bake at a medium heat til they are golden brown. For extra deliciousness you can serve your pancakes with chopped up bananas and some berries. ENJOY! ❤

Beauty Review: Spa-Essentials for everybody!

The beauty industry is well known for creating a crazy amount of products that should make you feel good about yourself. As we all know by now, a lot of their glorious claims are just a very well planned marketing – but hey even if beauty produtcs won’t work wonders (what an alliteration right here!), I still love the feeling of pampering myself on a sunday afternoon. And that’s why I want to share with you my top three pampering products for when you want to make yourself feel special. Also I found that these are the perfect products to use before you’re going out on a date, because we all spend a little more time getting ready before a date, so that’s the perfect occasion I guess?! Scroll down for the in depth reviews of the Caudalie Detox Mask and other good stuff! 😉 20140625-DSC01265

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask:
This Mask is claiming to deeply cleanse and to minimize your pores. Well, the pore minimizing part is quite controversial because once your pores are strechted out and very noticeable, they can only be minimized temporarily (for example with a pore minimizing primer, like the Benefit Porefessional). Therefore I don’t think that it minimized my pores for good, but I have noticed that my skin looked much more even and calm after using the mask. But the main benefit of this mask is definitely that it can handle harsh blemishes in no time! I had a breakout on my chin and it even fell off after using this mask because it dried out – so would’nt recommend it to girls with dry skin, but other than that it is a fantastic mask!

La Biosthétique SPA Body Peeling:
As the name would suggest, this peeling really does have this nice Spa feeling to it, because it has a quite herbal scent but at the same time very sweet scent. I’m so bad at describing scents, but this is definitely one I just want to smell like all day – IT SMELLS SO GOOD!!! – Ok, other than its amazing smell, the peeling is very fine and really gentle on the skin. I always use it under the shower and it is a dream in a bottle! ❤

L:A Bruket Handcreme wild rose:
The label L:A Bruket is a swedish skincare brand founded by an amazing couple in one of the most beautiful spa places in sweden: Varberg! Their products are made of organic ingredients of which most come from their local area – (I am way over exited about this brand because I have already met their founder and he seemed so passionate about his products and their organic philosophy)… Back to the handcream: It is amazing! It smells like you are just in the middle of a garden with lots of roses around you and it keeps my hands moisturized for hours.

I hope you liked this looong review of these three products – please let me know what you think!

Vegan & Glutenfree: Chocolate Chip Cookies

I personally love chocolate chip cookies, they are one of my favourite sweet treats to have. Unfortunately they are quite unhealthy as almost anything that’s sweet and chocolatey. So that’s why I created a more healthy version of my favourite chocolate chip cookies! They mostly contain of almonds and oats which is so good for your body – plus they are high in energy while also being low in fat. Scroll down for the glutenfree recipe! ❤

20140623-DSC01226

– 2 cups of Ground Almonds
– 1 cup of Oats
– 3 tbsp Agave Nectar
– 1 Mashed Ripe Banana
– 1 tsp Cinnamon
– 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (dairyfree chocolate)
– 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

Pre-heat oven to about 180° C. First mix the dry ingredients together, then add the mashed banana and finally the rest of the ingredients until you have a smooth cookie dough. Place the cookies on a baking tray and bake for about 10-15 Minutes. Hope you enjoy!

Strawberry Jam <3

Today I want to share with you one of my favourite recipes to make some delishious strawberry jam! I just made this today with my mom and it’s so fast and easy. Only thing that you really need to have is a blender that is able to heat up, like ThermoMix or I know some others can do it aswell. So I hope you like it as much as we do! Scroll down for the recipe!

DSC01099

– 1000g of fresh strawberries

– 500g of jam sugar (or canning sugar)

– 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

– 1 vanilla bean (optional)

DSC01165 To begin with, wash your strawberries, cut off the greens and put them in your blender. Mix them for about 10 seconds so they’re nicely cut before adding the other ingredients. DSC01103 Put in the canning sugar and the lemon juice and blend again for a few seconds. For creating jam you’ll need to heat up the mixture to about 100° C and cook it for at least 5 minutes til it get’s this jelly texture. DSC01116

Test the texture by putting one teaspoon of your cooked jam onto a plate, then turn the plate and if your jam doesn’t run down like water – it should be fine! Place your jam into clean jars and turn them upside down: this way the heat will create a vacuum and your jam is conserved.

I’d love to see your photos if you do also make some of this delish jam ❤

The perfect nude lip

Translation:

Today I wanted to share with you my „perfect nude lip“-combo. As I’m quite pale in winter time, it’s not that easy to find the perfect shades, because alot of them just made me look ill (sure many of you can refer to that ;))… So over the past few months I’ve been searching the beauty world to find my „Your Lips But Better“ Colour. And there you go, I found two lipsticks, one lipcrayon and a lipliner. You could layer them all over each other or just wear them on their own.
